Health Guarantee

Your puppy is healthy to the best of our knowledge when it leaves our premises. We will give a 72 hour guarantee for communicable diseases, however this does not cover any injury suffered after the    puppy leaves our premises. Once the puppy leaves, we have no control over the environment it is in. Many of the diseases have incubation periods of 3 days and as little as 24 hours. Please  be careful as to where you take your puppy. Puppy has had a basic health check at least once by a certified veterinarian before leaving, we try to be very thourough to guarantee a healthy puppy, however on occasion something may be missed, if during the 72 hours the puppy is diagnosed with an infection notify us immediately, then send us the written diagnosis from the vet with the cost of medication needed to treat and we will cover the cost of the medications only, under our discression and after consulting our vet. Some puppies will make themselves ill from the stress of going to a new environment, this is not covered, please read about hypoglycemia at the bottom of the page. If you choose not to have the puppy examined by a vet of your choice during the 72 hour time period, all other guarantees are void.

We give a year from birth for  life threatening genetic defects. It must be determined by 2 unassociated vets and sent to me in writing as soon as diagnosed. Puppy must be returned to us immediately with registration papers, (we are not responsible for shipping expenses).  We will either replace the puppy with a puppy of equal value when one comes available or if puppy is kept we refund half of the purchase price, not including shipping expenses. This guarantee is void if puppy is not checked by a veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase or if puppy changes hands. We are not responsible for any veterinarian bills. If the puppy dies within this one-year time frame, the Buyer will pay to have it autopsied to ascertain cause of death.  A puppy with a defect must be returned or humanely euthanized, with the prior permission of the Seller, to qualify for a replacement puppy.  A returned puppy must be retuned to the seller in good condition, other than the specified problem, at the expense of the Buyer.  The Buyer will then qualify for a replacement puppy.  Buyer is responsible for transportation costs to and from the Seller for a replacement puppy.  No replacement puppy will be given if the puppy has been euthanized without prior permission of the Seller

There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors, for example: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, and other auto-immune disorders that are not covered by this warranty.  Any physical problem, which is or could be the result of injury, is not covered under this warranty, including luxating patellas.

No puppy will be returned for any of the following reasons: Allergies, house breaking problems, family disagreement, other pet(s), etc. We try to honestly represent the puppies by sending recent photos etc, we will not refund if you are unhappy with a puppy that has been shipped.

We do not guarantee the future breed ability of this dog, puppies are sold as pets, if full AKC registration is given we don't guarantee puppy will breed or show. Also, we cannot guarantee the size of your puppy, however we will give our best estimate using past experience.

Vaccines:

Your puppy has had at least 1 shot before you will take it home. The shot we use protects against distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus Type-2, parvo, and parainfluenza, We give their first vaccination between 6 and 8 weeks and then every 3 to 4 weeks until 4 months of age, however ask what your veterinarian recommends. * Puppy has had a basic health check at least once by a certified veterinarian before leaving. *We don't use lepto in our puppy shots because they have a high reaction rate to it.

Worming:

We worm the puppies every 2 weeks, starting at 2 weeks of age. We use Pyrantel Pamoate which covers hook and round worms. At 6 weeks of age we worm with Panacur.

Feeding:

Your puppy has been on IAMS or Eucanuba Puppy food. Food and fresh water is always available. Any change in diet may cause diarrhea (which can be deadly for a tiny puppy). Make sure to make any dietary changes gradually. A small amount of Pepto Bismol may be given for diarrhea. Cows milk causes diarrhea in puppies.

Hypoglycemia:

Any puppy can be susceptible to hypoglycemia but toy breeds are more prone to the condition. Signs can include lethargy, staggering and or falling down, just laying around with a sad look on its face, followed by what looks like it is asleep. This sleeplike condition can turn into  tooth-clenching seizures and spasms, then possibly a comatose condition and even death. Not all symptoms may be seen so be very observent of any difference in behavior.

Sugar in the drinking water, karo syrup, nutri-cal or nutri-stat, honey, or even sugary cereal help to restore low blood sugar. Pediatric electrolytes (unflavored) and Science Diet AD canned food both work really well to help sick puppies. If the puppy doesn't recover within a short time get him to a vet immediately, it is a life and death  emergency.

It is very important to make sure the puppy doesn't get over tired, chilled, or go  long without eating to help prevent hypoglycemia. High quality dog food helps.

Stress can also be a major factor in a hypoglycemic attack. Stressors  like being taken to a new home, depressed immunity caused by vaccinations, sudden changes of diet, being terribly frightened,  toenail trimming and baths can be traumatic to little puppies. Please keep stress levels minimal and try to make your puppy feel safe secure.

Hypoglycemia is not covered under this warranty. This is a management problem, not genetic or hereditary.

Refund/Replacement policy

All deposits are non–refundable.  If Buyer pays for puppy in full, and then chooses not to take possession of puppy before delivery date, Seller will refund  50% of purchase price.  All items covered under this warranty are by replacement only.

If we feel that the puppy is being mistreated in any way, we retain the right to reclaim the puppy, no refund will be given.

If puppy is shipped I must have a signed copy of contract within one week of shipping or guarantee is void.

This guarantee is only good as stated, no other guarantees are written or implied.
